9 Skincare Rituals

The number 9 symbolizes service, completion, and the cycle of karmic endings that pave the way for new beginnings. Have you ever felt a connection to something that brings reassurance to your life? The universe often communicates with us in synchronistic ways through deja vu, numbers, colors, animals and unexpected encounters. I believe these moments are more than mere coincidences. They serve as vital messages affirming we are on the right path. The significance of the #9 has been woven into my life for as long as I can remember. Embracing these signs both personally and professionally, I’ve developed a list of essential rituals and beliefs that have guided me on my skincare & spiritual journey. These practices, inspired by the transformative power of the nine keys, are presented in no particular order & can be easily integrated into any lifestyle.

1. Honor the Inherent
Be proud of the divine beauty that is inherent within yourself. A positive mindset of our own beauty can help us break out of any negative routine vision we may have of ourselves. Practice daily self-care rituals such as facial massage, meditation and exercise. Validate your own beauty by speaking kindly to yourself.

2. Beneath the Surface
A lot of our limiting beliefs about our appearance resides deep within. Our skin is a barrier between the internal and external worlds. Use journaling to release any subconscious beliefs you may have about your appearance. Writing creates space for truth & clarity.

3. The Dreaming Body
Pay attention to your dreams. Proper sleep and the dreaming world play a significant role in how we look and how we respond to waking life. Asking your dreams for guidance is an ancient widespread tradition. The more direct you can be with yourself, the easier the message will come through. Keeping track of any dreams may hold the wellness and beauty solutions you are looking for. Remember, rest is sacred. Before sleep, ask for insight. Upon awaking, record what remains.

4. The Water Element
The body is a vessel of water and memory, making it one of the most important energy resources. Your skin has a much easier time ridding itself of toxins when you are hydrated. Add a few drops of a flower essence or herbal infusion. This will raise the vibrational essence and positively impact the water’s energy.

5. Solar Balance ; Sun Exposure & SPF
The sun is a symbol of life, warmth and vitality. It plays a crucial role in the synthesis of vitamin D in our bodies. Although excessive sun exposure is not healthy for anyone and can have adverse effects. Choosing a well formulated, broad spectrum sunscreen helps protect the skin by creating a protective barrier against UV exposure. Do not forget the chest, neck and hands.

6. Sacred Shedding & Exfoliation
Exfoliation is an act of release. With so many different options in the industry, this can get a bit confusing. Enzymes, peels, and granular scrubs are just a few methods. Envision the elimination of any negatives in your world. As you erase dead skin cells, choose to also let go of toxic thoughts. Letting go of dead skin cells is the same practice of eliminating unwanted circumstances in our life. Joining the two speeds up manifestation on a mental and physical plane.

7. The Plant Allies
Plants have always been healers, teachers and a bridge between worlds. Indulge in anti-inflammatory spices & herbs. For centuries people have turned to plants not only for food and medicines that alleviated pain and suffering, but also as a means for connecting with the spiritual realm. Some of my favorite spices consist of turmeric, ginger, oregano, rosemary and lemon. Herbal teas have helped me accept & manage many chronic health issues in this lifetime. Holy Basil, Turmeric Ginger & Lavender Mint are just a few blends you can try when visiting the studio.

8. Facial Oils & Elixirs
Think of this as an overall boost to your skincare routine. A good quality facial oil can keep vital hydration locked in by strengthening and softening the outer layer known as the stratum corneum. Depending on your skin type, this will determine what plant oil, serum or hydrosol would be most beneficial.

9. Ancestral Remembrance
To honor your own heritage is to honor the way your very own ancestors rested, healed and cared for themselves. Return to your roots to treat your skin as a living archive worthy of respect and patience. Across cultures, skin was tended to with oils, clays, herbs and gemstones. Not only for outer beauty, but for protection and healing. We are not separate from those who came before us. When contemporary science blends with old magic, these amazing techniques come to fruition. Radiance reflecting outward will always be the skin’s greatest medicine.
